Benefit Options

 

All Stanford appointed postdocs, regardless of funding or visa status, are eligible to enroll in the Postdoc Benefit Program. The full benefit package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and accidental death insurance, basic and extended travel insurance, and a Postdoc Assistance Program. Once enrolled, you can check your enrollment summary by logging into Benelogic.

Medical Plan

We offer one medical plan that is designed to help protect you and your covered dependents against financial loss wherever and whenever you need to access care.

Dental Plans

The postdoc dental plan is designed to meet the dental care needs for you and your family.

Vision Plan

Vision care for you and your family is offered through Vision Service Plan (VSP) and includes coverage for eyeglasses and contacts.

Disability & Leaves

The disability program is designed to replace a portion of your income if you are unable to work due to an accident, sickness or pregnancy.

Retirement Options

If you receive wages, you are eligible to contribute a portion of your salary to a retirement account.

Life & Accident Insurance

We provide a $50,000 life insurance policy to every postdoc.

Postdoc Assistance Program

GuidanceResources provides support and resources for personal and work-life issues. This is a company-sponsored and confidential service provided to you and your dependents at no charge.

Basic travel assistance coverage through Frontier MEDEX is provided to you at no cost. Extended travel assistance is also available and meets the J1 Visa requirements.

For when your postdoctoral appointment ends, COBRA ensures you have the right to continue your current health benefits.
