SHCA - Mental Health Benefit
If you need immediate assistance with a mental health crisis please call (800) 424-4047 where someone is always available to help 24/7.
Accessing care from a counselor, therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist is a covered benefit under SHCA. If you are not currently working with a mental health provider, you may use Aetna’s Directory of Health Care Professionals to find one in the SHCA network. If you are already established with a provider, or the provider you want to work with is not within the SHCA network, you may continue to see that person but you will pay a different amount.
- In-network providers: $5 copay for a therapist, counselor, psychologist, or psychiatrist
- Out-of-network providers: The plan will pay 80% of the allowed amount for service. The member pays 20% plus any balance billing. For example, if the billed charge is $400, but Aetna has an allowed amount of $300, the plan pays 80% of $300, $240. The member pays 20% of $300, $60, plus the $100 (balance billing) not allowed by Aetna.
SHCA members have access to Pacific Anxiety Group, and Peninsula Behavioral Health, and are now offering video visits. Both groups are considered in-network.
SHCA Members have access to licensed therapists, counselors, psychologists, and psychiatrists through Teladoc For Behavioral Health
