Getting Care Before Enrolled
If you or a covered family member are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 (9-911 if using a campus phone) or go to the nearest hospital
Accessing care from a medical provider before you are in Aetna's database will require you to pay for those services using your credit card, debit card, or cash. Services include but are not limited to:
- doctor visits
- walk-in clinics
- urgent care
- prescriptions

Once you are in Aetna's system, you can file a claim for reimbursement for any monies spent minus the copay you would have paid for that service had you been in Aetna's system. To receive the maximum reimbursement:
- always use in-network providers
- save your receipts
To claim your reimbursement:
- Online
- You must be in Aetna's system and have registered on Aetna's site. If you haven't registered, you will need to before you can proceed
- One logged in, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Contact Us link
- You will be routed to the following page. click on Send a Message
- From the Topic drop down, choose A Claim and follow the remaining instructions.

File a claim via US Mail
- Use the Medical Reimbursement Form for service reimbursements
- Use the Pharmacy Reimbursement Form for medication reimbursements
